Formerly marketing and publicity manager at Milkweed Editions, Jessica Deutsch will join our staff in August, replacing the outgoing Molly Mikolowski. At Milkweed, she oversaw the promotion of all books and ushered in innovative marketing strategies for the press and its authors. At Coffee House she will be vital to a new electronic marketing strategy, focusing on an expanded internet, social networking and informational technology strategy.
After an eight-year absence, Anitra Budd returned to Coffee House Press as editorial assistant in December 2009. She has been promoted to managing editor. In her expanded position, she will take a more active role in acquisitions, and will continue to oversee the internship program; managing the editorial schedule; and editing several titles each season. Prior to working at Coffee House, Budd was a writer at the University of Minnesota and an associate editor at Search Institute, a Minneapolis-based nonprofit organization. As a freelance editor, she has edited pieces for the Minnesota Society of CPAs, MBI Publishing, and the Twin Cities Pride Guide, among others.
Andrea Satter brings almost 20 years of experience in fundraising, relationship management, sales and recruiting to her new role.Most recently the Development Director for Free Arts Minnesota, Andrea successfully executed their individual donor campaign, annual fundraising event, and corporate and foundation campaigns. Because of her strengths in building relationships and community outreach, she has been successful as a project leader and collaborator at other organizations including Robert Half International, Jeane Thorne Inc. and Bloomingdales. Giving back is a huge priority for Andrea. Her volunteer experience includes the St. Paul Area Chamber of Commerces Charitable Foundation (Board Member), Special Olympics of Minnesota (Area 11 Coordinator), and Genesis II for Families (Past-President), just to name a few.
