Andrei Codrescu is a celebrated poet, novelist, essayist, screenwriter, commentator on National Public Radio, and frequent PBS contributor. A World Heavyweight Champion Poet, his many awards include the Peabody Award for his film Road Scholar, a Big Table Poetry Award, an ACLU Freedom of Speech Award, and the Literature Prize of the Romanian Cultural Foundation. Born in Romania, Codrescu is currently a MacCurdy Distinguished Professor of English at Louisiana State University and lives in New Orleans.
