Author Biography

GORDON BALL

Gordon Ball edited three books with poet Allen Ginsberg, including <Allen Verbatim: Lectures on Poetry, Politics, Consciousness.> Ball arrived in New York in 1966 at the age of twenty-one, after a childhood spent in Tokyo, Japan, and after attending Davidson College in North Carolina. In New York 1966-1967 he was an assistant to filmmaker Jonas Mekas. He has made fourteen independent films, published numerous articles and photographs on America's Beat Generation, and teaches in the Department of English at Virginia Military Institute in Lexington.
